About Myself...
My name is Erica Emerson. I am the owner and founder of Pedigree Pet Spa, located in Metutchen, NJ. I have been in the animal field for over 17 years. I have been grooming for most of those years as well as being a veterinary technician. I have dedicated my life to helping animals in anyway that I can. I attend seminars twice a year in order to continuously further my education and offer your pets the latest in treatments and equipment. I am also certified in Canine CPR and First Aid.
My mission is to provide them with the best care anyone can offer. It has been my dream to open not just any grooming shop but a grooming salon that can cater to your pets every need.

The biggest cause for matting/ tangling…is COAT CHANGE, generally a problem that hits puppies about 8-14 months old. This is a time when even the most diligent brushing can still result in a matted coat. This is the time that a puppies coat begins to change into the adult coat. If you have a double-coated or “non shedding” type breed, here is something you should be aware of. The puppy coat isn't able to get very far from the dog. 
It has a tendency to remain entangled in the puppy's coat, thus making the adult coat tangle around it…in what seems to be almost overnight.
